Background:

With an IQ of 190 the same as Issac Newton Ace was destined for great things, however his real goals were unique. Since age three after growing up bonding with his older brother Arlo watching martial arts media (specifically Bruce Lee) and pro wrestling and witnessing the Challenger Disaster, his three life goals were to be a martial arts master, pro wrestler and astronaut.  He started out athletically with soccer, gymnastics, Taekwondo and amateur wrestling, earning his black belt on his 10th birthday, an accomplishment usually that happens for people at 15 or 16 years old when they start out at 5 years old like he did. Advance placement wasn’t new to Ace though.

His father Ian David Ravinovitch was born on March 12th 1943 in Sugar Land, Houston Texas. With an IQ of 173 He was fascinated with astrophysics and experimental physics which led to him minoring in cosmology and astrophysics but becoming a professional experimental physicist. At Woodstock 1969 in Bethel New York, on the last day of Woodstock he met his wife Esther Rose Friedman( Born December 16th 1946, a theoretical physicist and brooklynite. Both had a lot in common as they were both raised in very strict Russian-Jewish households by scholar families.

Their differences in personalities are quite stark as Ivan is very sweet with a southern hospitality, very passive while Esther is very brassy. Both are the way they are based off their similar harsh upbringings, representing both ways a child can develop as a result of that upbringing. That night they consummated the relationship and on May 4th 1970 their eldest child was born. They named him Arlo after folk singer Arlo Guthrie who performed that night.

Arlo has an IQ of 140 and is a musical prodigy himself. Despite being a pacifist he is a huge fan of pro wrestling and martial arts media, a big fan of Bruce Lee. On his 10th birthday he got the VHS copy of the Bruce Lee movie Enter The Dragon.  On March 16th 1983 Ace Ian Rabinovitch was born. His brother raised him on the martial arts and pro wrestling media making Ace himself a big fan of Bruce Lee and pro wrestling.  Ace has the highest IQ of his family at 190, same as Isaac Newton. He has eidetic memory which gives him the ability to memorize events and really anything/ everything.

Ace also is on the Autism spectrum, has Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder as well as histrionic personality disorder which makes him very attention seeking. On January 28th 1986 he saw the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster on television which piqued his interest in outer space. He bonded with his father over astronomy, who would watch the stars with him with his telescope.  By just three years old Ace knew what he wanted to do with his life, he wanted to be a pro wrestler, a martial arts master and an astronaut. His younger twin brothers Ivan and Davey (David) were born on May 20th 1985 and have the same IQ as their mother.

Ace is much different from his siblings and parents as he is much more energized physically.
His father likened him to an “energizer bunny with the brain of Isaac Newton.” While his mother would tell him “not enough hours in the day” for his plans. Ace began his journey to become a pro wrestler at four years old.

He started with gymnastics and soccer, the following year at five years old he began training in Taekwondo. The following year in 1989 one rainy afternoon with his brothers he was watching tv and they stumbled upon British wrestling, already a fan of smaller wrestlers with Luchadors and a few Japanese wrestlers he got to see on TV he became interested in the catch-wrestling style.

His father told them the techniques seemed derived from Greco Roman style wrestling, so Ace decided to begin training in amateur wrestling, in the local Pee-Wee division. As he got older he realized he was undersized which was not great as he lived in Texas where the love for everything big is not just a stereotype. With his father’s nice side and his mother’s brassiness Ace developed a mindset that he would stand up for what is right, not let people push him or weaker people around. His motto/ mantra was to be big in action since he was not big in size. His personality is a combo of southern hospitality and spiritedness.

On his 10th birthday he achieved his first degree black belt in Taekwondo, 5 or 6 years younger the usual age someone who starts at 5 years old would achieve. Due to his high IQ Ace was used to “advanced placement.” For every sport he had done he had gotten into the local paper while his bully J.T. Douglas, a multi-sport athletic prospect got in the main bigger articles yet he hated sharing the spotlight with Ace.

In 1991 at 8 years old Ace beat up his three cronies for excluding Ace (due to his size) and other children in the neighborhood from participating in sports.   In 1993 with some local neighborhood kids and older teens he had met from communicating on the infancy of the internet he joined the underground world of backyard wrestling on May 8th 1993.

There he started wrestling that day as Ace Sky. They started on trampolines but evolved soon to boxing rings( which were too dangerous to fall on) until they built their own rings. They had to be careful not to be caught by the strict state athletic commission, yet were able to put on shows.

Ace was one of the couple backyard wrestlers who aspired to become pro.  In 1994 he was put in an “ advance placement” program where he was able to graduate and skip junior high and high school to attend the state university as both a student and assistant to the professor in the astronomy center.

In 1996 he told his parents he was essentially running away to either Canada or Mexico to get trained professionally, but they were able to calm him down and they found a local promotion in Galveston, Texas: Galveston Championship Wrestling. GCW had a wrestling school program called “Fight Zone.” His parents made him earn the tuition money himself.

Ace had his farewell backyard wrestling match on September 6th 1996. From September 7th to January19th he accumulated the money through working as a paperboy, helping his neighbors with cleaning their pools, mowing their lawns and tutoring their older kids for the SATS.

On January 20th he made it just in time to pay for the tuition for the first class of pro wrestling training with GCW’s Fight Zone. However, he was a black sheep among trainees and veterans due to many stigmas: Being a backyard wrestler, Being undersized, Being just 13 years old.

The head trainer Mike Maverick was quite aloof towards Ace too despite Ace’s acumen. Ace bonded with Damian (born December 16th 1980) who was just a couple years older and similar in size to him, three inches taller at 5 '9 and 101 lbs heavier. Damian was a tape-trader and human-encyclopedia on Japanese wrestling. However, his in ring persona began to form as “Locuro”; an evil luchador that is the epitome of insanity (picbase Delirious). In the ring he became Ace’s longest rival to date.  Ace describes wrestling Locuro is like wrestling a carnival fun-house version of himself. They have a Spiderman-Green Goblin, Mad Magazine, Spy vs Spy type rivalry.

On his 14th birthday that year the class got news that GCW would be getting a cable access television deal, however the state athletic commission was strict about wrestlers being licensed pro at 18, excluding Ace and Damian.  Ace and Damian began to sneak in before tapings to train and spar but were quickly caught by Mike. Instead of chastising them he was impressed by their devotion, allowing them to continue as long as they made themselves scarce during tapings (that took place on Thursday to Saturday night, airing on Sundays.)

The next year in 1998, Mike gave Ace a birthday present, Ace and Damian (Locuro) would compete in an exhibition match in front of three members of the state athletic commission to get legally licensed. When they arrived the judges were quietly mocking their lack of size but as soon as the bell was rung their jaws were literally dropped. Ace and Locuro were using techniques not uncommon today, however mind-blowing for late 90’s Texans. They succeeded in getting licensed. The other part of the present was if they succeeded in getting licensed, they would be facing each other in the opening match of the premiere live taping episode of GCW’s cable access show on March 29th. Ace had won the exhibition but lost the debut match.

Ace and Locuro continued their feud while Ace also faced off against two evil ninja brothers, a crooked (heel) referee, veteran wrestlers and a giant/super heavyweight. Touring the rest of Texas and the southern states with GCW was going great. He was making a name for himself as a beloved prodigy impressing with his already unique dynamic cruiserweight style mixing martial arts and amateur wrestling with Lucha-Libre.

On June 12th 1999 the same day the wrestling news-letter/ magazine featured him as a talent from Texas to watch for, he was expelled and fired from Houston University for selling cannabis and magic mushrooms to students, that same day JT Douglas broke the story as his first piece as a sports journalist . For years he has criticized Ace as he became a far-right political commentator along with being a sports journalist.

Ace began to have a ruined reputation that led to his parents, although remaining still very loving and close with him, did not support him financially in his goal for wrestling.  He took it in stride and didn’t turn heel like most would in his position.  He would always win fans back during his matches fighting as a loveable underdog. He avoided criminal charges due to being a minor. He was punished through his academic record ruining his chances with NASA.

With two of his life goals working out though he continued wrestling.  His pipedream in wrestling wasn’t to be a mainstream American “superstar,” actually he wanted to wrestle in Japan, he idolized Japanese wrestlers. Plus with his cruiserweight size it was already a slim chance of him getting that recognition in America.

In 2001 after making a name for himself in the South, he continued his journey into the midwest, midsouth, and northeast independent circuit/ territories as he moved to Chicago, Illinois living in an RV and working during the week as a “code monkey “ (a programmer ) for a startup tech company.  Wrestling on weekends, he began to have quite a low income.  Growing up his parents salary had always drifted between middle class and lower middle class despite good pay initially as scientists they were raising four children which was tough .

In 2004 he got his first big break, his first international tour in Europe and the UK from October 16th to December 27th.  After he returned he got an offer to wrestle for 24 years in Japan in their super junior promotions.  He made his debut in Japan in January 8th 2005. For 2 years he worked for niche cruiser-weight promotions that trained him even more hardcore into Lucharesu style.

He made a couple excursions back to the states and returned to the states in 2007 this time based in the west coast area where he was viewed as a premiere talent.  In late September of 2007 he signed a developmental contract with the biggest wrestling company in America, despite his small size and being told he would not be anything other than a cog in the machine he became world champion at the developmental federation within 3 months and debuted in June of 2008.

He had a stellar reputation before, during and even after despite his controversial exit. Many veterans and even bigger stars respected him more than the powers that be. Unfortunately the powers that be/executives incorrectly marketed him as a clean cut family friendly hero when he’s much more of a “free spirit type.” Ace at that time could best be described as the dream guy for a girl to bring home to her parents while also being a polyamorous, pot smoker free spirit. You can’t really make that digestible in 30 seconds to an audience so he never really blamed anyone for how he was misrepresented .

His time in that company ended due to getting fired for failing drug tests for cannabis and psychedelics which he was actually using for soothing his injuries (in an old school way very common for wrestlers to not tell higher ups about their injuries).  Being injured took a mental toll on him as it usually does with wrestlers and he went into a depression in the 2010’s , along with drama of the dirt sheets on his suspensions and people not being aware he was not using drugs recreationally.

To make matters worse in 2012 on his 29th birthday he got in a motorcycle accident that broke his right foot and ankle in multiple places, leaving his right foot permanently disfigured, against doctor’s orders he remained active and the company tried to help him heal and work through it but he couldn’t get cleared completely and had been inactive for 2 years until they released him 2014, still on amicable terms, he has returned to help with some seminars at their performance center and doing Mo-Cap for their video games.

Since 2010 he had gotten more spiritual due to his depression and began studying Eastern Philosophy with Japanese Buddhism, already Jewish he kept some traditions with that. He is polytheistic, also studying Hinduism. He got into Ram Dass, Timothy Leary, Alan Watts and even shares the same beliefs as Bruce Lee. He’s been a fan of Carl Sagan for years , his cosmic spiritually, scientifically Ace admired him since he was a youngster.

The weekend of his release in 2014 he went to the Peruvian jungle to an Ayahuasca retreat psychedelic plant based brew administered legally and medically by gurus, unfortunately the Ayahuasca didn’t work so he stayed the next week and got administered another plant based psychedelic brew of San Pedro cactus called Wuchama, this made him spiritually reborn and unlocked his spirit animal of the Jaguar, giving him superpowers in slowing down time, super speed and clairvoyance competitively, Ace is not delusional in his belief of having those abilities he just views a matter-of-fact way as he trusts the shaman’s who are trusted medically, legally and spiritually.

Ace Sky is Ace Ian Rabinobitch turned up to 11: A paradoxical enigma he is disciplined yet devil-may-care and debaucherous. He puts his focus 100 percent into athletic regime, intellectualism and holistic-spirituality. He is known for his wisdom and mostly laid-back approach to spreading his message of the path to enlightenment. The parts of his message are encouraging ingenuity/ novelty, freedom of self-expression and inclusive community fighting hard for civil rights and against corporate/ capitalist evil.
