Name:

Butch Parker

Sex:

Male

Age:

44

Weight:

275lbs

Height:

6'5"

Hometown:

Dunfermline, Scotland but now residing in Santa Barbara, California

Demeanor:

For the majority of his career, Butch has been a full-blown babyface bar a short-lived heel turn stemming from seeking Senester’s help in curing his sister’s terminal cancer. This led him down a very dark path that, thankfully, he was able to emerge on the other side from. Since then, Butch has maintained a babyface run. Whilst he has yet to fully retire from in-ring competition, he has dedicated most of his time on helping the next generation of young professional wrestlers make their marks in the HWA.

Entrance:

The lights in the arena dim as the opening guitar riff of “Arrival” by Mikey Rukus starts to play. The audience knows the music and come to their feet in anticipation. A moment later, Butch can be seen walking out from the tunnel. He stops in the centre of the stage as thunderous cheer emanates from crowd. Butch bounces on the spot on the balls of his heels, swiveling his neck from side-to-side. The familiar pyros engulf him from all angles along with a cloud of smoke. A second later, he emerges out, his face like thunder, the same smoke spewing out his mouth like a dragon. He sets off numerous pyros with multiple punches and kicks as he makes his way down to ringside. Butch climbs into the ring and raises his arm in acknowledgement to the fans as his music fades out.

Appearance:

Despite being in his mid-forties, Butch has been able to maintain an excellent physical stature that he was renowned for during his peak years in HWA. There have been some grey streaks that have begun to creep into his short chestnut brown hair, a look his wife, Wisdom, has become quite fond of. One thing that hasn’t changed though are his trademark piercing emerald green eyes. As a CEO of HWA, Butch adopts a smart-casual approach, wearing jeans, trainers as well as a t-shirt with a smart shirt over the top with the sleeves rolled up. On the occasion when he does step through the ropes, Butch’s in-ring attire hasn’t changed. He still wears silver MMA-style tights with electric blue trim around the outside perimeter with matching coloured boots that reach up to just below his knees with built-in knee pads of the same colour. One difference is a metal knee brace he wears over his right knee following an ACL rupture he suffered. On his hands, Butch wears a pair of black Harbinger fingerless combat mitts, and small strapped black elbow pads on both elbows. On the outside his left bicep, Butch has a tattoo insinuating that his skin has been ripped apart, revealing Scotland flag underneath his skin and a Japanese Koi carp sleeve decorates entire his right upper arm. He also has his surname stenciled in old English-styled font across his shoulder blades. Since his marriage to Wisdom and the birth of his daughter and son, Butch had his forearms tattooed with sleeves respectively representing his children, Evina and David. On the inside of his left bicep he also has a tattoo of a snowy owl to represent Wisdom.

Wrestling Style:

Power/Technical/Submission. Over his nearly thirty years inside the squared circle, Butch has adapted his style of wrestling, combining power moves with his knowledge of mat-based wrestling moves and submission holds as well as incorporating immense striking power and takedowns associated with mixed martial arts. When it comes to executing submissions and suplexes, very few can do them with the meticulousness Butch can execute them with. He is considered to be one of the hardest pound-for-pound strikers in the business.

Pre-Finisher:

“Tartan Army Charge” (Clothesline From Hell)

"Fade to Black" (Claymore Kick)

"Phalanx Smash" (Spear)

“Flower of Scotland” (A very deep Dragon Sleeper with a body scissors)

Finisher:

“Rampant Lion” (Jackhammer)

“ParkerPlex” (A snap Dragon Suplex that lands the opponent t on the back of their head and neck. Butch transitions the suplex into a pinning combination)

Infinite Wisdom” (V-Trigger Knee Strike)

“Evina Effect” (Bladerunner/Sister Abigail)

Background:

Butch Alexander Parker was born on the 30th November 1978 in the Dunfermline Maternity Hospital. He was the middle child of Alexander “Sandy” and Kathryn Parker. His older brother, David was eight years his senior. Butch grew up in the small neighbouring village of Crossford and by the age of five, he was already getting in trouble for his rough-and-tumble playing style with his friends. When Butch was six, Butch’s sister, Diana was born. From the moment she was born, Butch doted on his baby sister, developing an extremely close bond and was extremely protective over her, a trait he carries on to this day.

Tragedy struck the Parker family when Butch was only 10 years old, Diana just 4. The oldest of the Parker children, 18 year-old David Parker was killed in a car accident. It devastated the family, Butch especially, having lost his best friend. With his sister yet at an age where she properly understood what had happened, the onus was on the 10-year-old Butch to be a rock for her and his parents too. Over the next few years, Butch continued to grow, his interest in playing football lessening as he started to take advantage of his massive size. By the age of fourteen, Butch was a towering six-foot, three-inches tall and weighed an astonishing 250lbs. Deemed too rough and too big for the sports High School education in Britain offered him, he was given private classes in amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts by the head of the Physical Education department, a former professional wrestler and fourth Dan black belt kickboxer named Michael Coburn. Butch took to his new-found extracurricular activities like a duck to water, able to utilize his body in a way he never thought he could. Barely a year down the line, with blessing of his parents and with a little intervention from the UK Government, Butch was allowed to leave home at just 15 years old. His trainer, was given legal guardianship over Butch and the two travelled to America so Butch could be properly trained to become a professional wrestler. And so the journey of “The One Man Tartan Army” began.

 EFWA (1994 - 1998)

Butch Parker officially became a professional wrestler at the age 16, in 1994. After a brutal year of hard and strenuous training under the tutelage of his mentor and his team of MMA and wrestling coaches, Butch was baptized in the fire of combat from the get-go, learning every submission hold, suplex and slam he could. His lightning-quick reflexes, raw animalistic power and unmatched determination made him the perfect soldier for battling inside the squared circle. And so, at just 16 years, seven months and 23 days, a six-foot-five, 285lb Scottish wrestling rookie joined the ranks of the Extreme Fighting and Wrestling Association, a company Butch would enjoy six years of great success. Butch etched his name in the company's history as the youngest and only undefeated World Champion, when he won the company’s flagship title in his rookie year when he defeated three time World Champion, Cobra in a classic encounter. Butch held the EFWA World Championship for sixteen months before having to relinquish after a freak leg injury in a title defense against the leviathan known as Hell's Guardian when his shin bone split in half after he attempted his destructive “Rampant Lion” finishing move on the 400lb monster. Fearing his young career was over just as it was starting, Butch spent an agonizing eighteen months in a grueling rehabilitation program that seen him even having to learn to walk again. But the young lion was far from finished and he returned to the EFWA even better, going onto capture the World Championship on four more occasions whilst also capturing the infamous Deathmatch Championship which he carried up until the belt's abolishment. Butch actually gained considerable notoriety during his reign as Deathmatch Champion after he was involved in a match that was deemed too violent for network television when he faced off against hardcore legend Terry Funk. It was also whilst wrestling for the EFWA Butch was introduced to the two men who he now regards as his two closest friends - Hans von Richtoven and Matthew Kiriyama, aka Red Dragon.

WWC (1999 - 2002)

After his lengthy spell with the EFWA, Butch sought to take his skills to pastures new. It was widely rumoured Butch would abandon wrestling altogether, in favour of competing full time in MMA but he ended up being convinced for pro wrestling mogul Malice Maverick to sign a lucrative four-year deal with the World Wrestling Coalition in late 1999. This would be the starting point of one of modern-day pro wrestling's most intense, personal and bloody rivalries. It was in the WWC Butch met Razer aka HWA Hall of Famer, Michael Dredge. Although the two never met in the ring in the WWC, they both enjoyed their own successes, with Butch winning the Television Championship at his inaugural pay-per-view appearance and Razer winning the coveted International Championship. It was also whilst in the WWC Butch met his first wife, Victoria, an interviewer and backstage worker for the company. The two hit it off immediately and were married just eight months into Butch’s first year with the company and another nine months later, the couple had their first child, a little boy they named Scott. Butch was able to keep on working on a limited schedule thanks to the kind nature of WWC owner Malice Maverick, now a very close friend of Butch. But after the untimely death of Maverick, the company was forced into liquidation, the assets seized and the company shares sold on by Maverick's remaining family members. This left the roster, including Butch, on the scrapheap.

HWA (2004 - Present)

For two years Butch stayed on his own, working for small Independent companies whilst spending time with his new family and creating quite a name for himself as a well-renowned submission specialist as well as a dominating powerhouse. But Butch’s happiness was short-lived. After barely two years together, Victoria and Butch both mutually filed for a divorce after agreeing to joint custody over their son. Things would go from bad to worse, when Butch was arrested for assault and battery after finding out that his younger sister Diana, now 19 years old, was being domestically abused by her boyfriend. Butch went berserk and in the end, launched the man through a car windshield. Butch was given a suspended two-year sentence but managed to avoid being charged at all after conclusive evidence was that Butch had been enticed into striking the man responsible for hitting his sister. Focusing back on his wrestling career whilst still finding time to see his son, Butch was discovered by a talent scout from the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance in January 2004. After being impressed by Butch’s skills, he was immediately brought in and was signed to a four-year multi-million dollar contract. And he made an immediate impact, going on a four-month unbeaten run whilst reigniting his rivalry with Razer. Their first ever in-ring confrontation took place during the HWA's inaugural European Tour, which seen Butch emerge victorious after an exciting four-corner strap match in Munich, Germany. After conquering his adversary, Butch caught the eye of HWA’s premiere female competitor, ICE. The two hit it off instantly after Butch had saved her from a swarm of paparazzi photographers after she fainted, with Butch driving her to safety. The two quickly became romantically involved and soon became quite the power couple.

As he continued to dominate, Butch set his sights on HWA's legendary Ring Master Tournament; renowned for being one of pro wrestling’s most brutal and intense competitions Butch would go on to demonstrate the tenacity that made him a household name in the EFWA and WWC when he defeated his old friend Hans von Richtoven and former WWC tag team partner DHO before besting Dream Master in a bloody Last Man Standing match in the semi-final. In the final, Butch faced off against HWA Hall of Famer David Hollis and Thane Givens in a barbaric triple threat Hell in a Cell match. Butch emerged victorious once again to win the tournament in his very first appearance on a HWA pay-per-view. Butch’s stock in HWA skyrocketed, his victory at Ring Master catapulting into the main event scene. Butch soon found himself in the World Championship picture, facing off against the Dream Master, in a match to determine the number one contender. It was that night Razer made his dramatic return to the HWA, nailing an unsuspecting Butch with a superkick, costing him his chance at the World Championship as well as his undefeated streak. Butch would rebound though and put Razer on the sidelines again when he decimated his rival in a steel cage match the very next night. The tide would continue to turn in Butch's favour when Dream Master shockingly announced his departure from the HWA, leaving Butch as the number one ranked contender for the World Championship.

With the wrestling world buzzing about the future mouth-watering collision between Butch Parker and the multi-time World Champion, Buff Bridges, the two competitors themselves took it in their strides. They shared mutual respect for one another and at the PPV Forbidden in an epic clash that lived up to the hype and more but ultimately had an anticlimactic, horrible ending. After his sister, Diana, had complications with the birth of her second child, Butch would go on to lose via count-out also set off a sickening rivalry after a sickening distraction from Thane Givens as he desecrated the grave of Butch's deceased brother, broadcasting it live via the titantron. Butch would get his chance at revenge though when he, Thane and Nightmare would challenge Buff Bridges at the HWA pay-per-view Declarations in a fatal-four-way elimination match. The bout would see it come down to Butch and Thane as the remaining competitors, and ended with Butch refusing to tap out to Thane’s submission finishing move and he passed out. The loss was a hard one for Butch to take as he did not submit nor was he pinned. But he bounced back and the rivalry got even more personal when both men's respective factions were thrown into the mix with The Imperium and The Sons of Dixie. Several more weeks of conflicting warfare continued which also seen Butch become involved with new HWA diva Wisdom after ICE ended their tumultuous relationship in mysterious circumstances. A main event was set for the September pay-per-view Fatality where Butch would challenge Thane Givens for the HWA World Championship in an 60-minute Ultimate Submission match. But yet heartbreak would strike once again just a week before he was scheduled to face Thane, Butch’s son, Scott was diagnosed with stage IV Leukaemia and passed away just days later at only six years old. This left Butch devastated and Senester refused to allow him time to grieve for his loss, forcing Butch to compete. Butch was able to channel his emotions and put a career-defining performance to capture his first World Championship in HWA. The match was not without its controversy though as a great deal of fans as well roster members believed the match should’ve been declared a draw with Thane retaining. The match went to a photo-finish with Butch securing a last-minute submission when Thane was deemed to have passed out in the very last second, giving Butch the victory. The decision from Senester not to overrule the change and keep the belt on Butch caused numerous superstars including The Punisher, Luscious Lenny, Butch’s former flame ICE, Blush and Thane Givens himself to walk out on their HWA contracts overnight.

With the World Championship around his waist, Butch now had a very big crosshair on his back and he would go on to defend his title several times over the next few months defeating Buff Bridges and Maniac on separate occasions. Then, tragedy would strike Butch yet again. When defending his World Championship against Buff Bridges, it was revealed that his best friend Hans von Richtoven had been responsible for a brutal attack on Red Dragon earlier in the evening when Hans came out to the ring dressed in Red Dragon’s ring attire. With a barbed wire baseball bat in had, Hans would mutilate Butch’s left leg as he aligned himself with Senester and his Horde. Miraculously, Butch would retain the World Championship but with Hans now part of the Horde and Red Dragon in a coma, Butch found himself alone and engaged in a violent, personal feud with his sadistic former best friend. Butch would come out from it victorious but still without either of his two friends to turn to. Butch would then go on to lose the World Championship in a triple threat match against Maniac and Buff Bridges – a match he lost without being pinned.

Butch would take several leaves of absence from HWA over the next year. He became embroiled in a vicious spat with Senester along the way. His relationship with Wisdom also had its fair share of up and downs too. In October 2005, Butch showed off his more violent side that made him infamous during his years in EFWA when he captured the HWA Extreme Championship and restarted his feud with Michael Dredge, now known as the Dark Messenger. After a bloody, vicious and personal battle, it came to light Wisdom had actually slept with Michael Dredge against her will when he threatened Butch’s life. It was one tragedy too for him this time and he indefinitely left HWA and professional wrestling altogether. It would be the last appearance of Butch Parker in HWA for nearly three years. Over the years, Butch and Wisdom’s relationship would continue to go through its ups and downs but they would always find their way back to each other.

However, in the early part of 2008, Butch Parker made his surprise return to the HWA, coming to the aid of his old nemesis Michael Dredge during an invasion from rival promotion, RWF. Butch and Dredge decided to put their differences to one side in order to battle their neighbouring intruders. Butch and Dredge would play instrumental parts in driving the RWF competitors out of HWA and also catching the eye of the then-RWF World Champion, Talon Wilkinson. The two spoke highly of each other's skills with Talon citing Butch as definite contender for his RWF World Championship. 2008 would be a very eventful year for Butch, after it was revealed he was suffering from a brain tumour whilst still remaining active in the ring. It was the love of his former girlfriend, Wisdom, that convinced him to have surgery to remove the tumour but it was almost too late after Butch was attacked by Orphan Mysterio and the Wayward Sons, after a handicap match with Buff Bridges. Butch collapsed in the ring and was rushed to hospital. He was temporarily pronounced dead before making it through the night and surviving the operation. Soon after his recovery and he was declared fit for returning to active ring duty, Butch set his sights on regaining the HWA World Championship – a title he was never pinned to lose back in 2005. It wouldn’t be long before Butch got his opportunity, competing in a tournament to declare a new champion. But he faced stiff competition in Renegade, Ronnie McNeil, Belial, Duriel, Talon Wilkinson and AC James. Before the tournament could begin however, Talon was forced to withdraw from the draw after the death of his brother. Butch would eliminate the former champion in the opening round in an utterly dominant display before facing Ronnie McNeil in a threshold match, with the first two competitors crossing the finishing line at the stage going to Fatality to duke it out for the title. Butch sealed his place at the PPV by being the first man to cross the line despite nearly being foiled by his arch-rival at the time Buff Bridges. The main event would consequently be decided under triple threat rules after a photo-finish between Ronnie McNeil and Belial went to a stalemate. The three men would compete in a brutal three-tier cage match, pushing each other to the very brink of human endurance but at the end of the night, Butch emerged victorious after nailing Ronnie McNeil with the Rampant Lion and thus capturing his second HWA World Championship.

With the World Championship belt back around his waist, Butch found himself targeted by the unhinged and venomous AC James, whose pursuit of the HWA World Championship was equally unrelenting and ruthless. It was during his rivalry with AC James that Butch discovered he had a long-lost nephew, son to his deceased older brother. Butch embraced the young Sean Parker like his own son who himself strived to follow in his uncle's footsteps and step into the squared circle. The naïve youngster was tricked however, manipulated by AC James into signing a HWA contract and forced into his first match that very same night against the number one contender for Butch's World Title. Accepting the consequences for not keeping an on him, Butch took it upon himself to train his nephew. Whilst continuing to battle AC James, both physically and mentally, Butch formed a tag team with his lifelong nemesis Michael Dredge, and they christened their new partnership the Lion's Edge, setting their sights on Dante's Inferno and the HWA Tag Team Championships. But before they could fully commit to being a team, the two wrestling icons vowed to find out just who was the best wrestler between the two of them and so they agreed to compete in a best of three series a week before The Other Side where Butch was scheduled for the defense of his World Title against AC James. The three matches were epic as they were barbaric with special guest referee Talon Wilkinson stuck in the middle. It would see Dredge defeat Butch in a sickening Light Tube match, prior to Butch practically beating Dredge into submission inside his signature Lion's Den. The third and deciding contest was chosen by none other than AC James who had managed to worm his way into the pockets of HWA Management and so Butch and Dredge were forced to square off in a Sabre's Dance match. The final contest was short-lived but will never be forgotten as Talon called for the match to be stopped after both men plunged almost 50 feet from the top of the third cage to the mat below. With the answer to everyone's question regarding the better man between Butch and Dredge put on hold, the two concentrated on taking down the dominating and well-oiled machine of Dante's Inferno, the reigning HWA Tag Team Champions for the better part of two years. But the tandem of Butch and Dredge was not the dream team both they and the fans had hoped and team quickly disbanded after some internal conflict and the subsequent resignation of Dredge from the HWA soon after.

It was then announced shortly before the 2009 Ring Master Butch would once again defend the HWA World Championship against AC James the Havoc immediately following the annual Pay-Per-View extravaganza. It would be Butch's third defense, his second against AC James and would ultimately be his last. At the event itself, making his debut in the tournament, young Sean Parker suffered a horrendous spinal injury at the hands of the powerhouse Legion. Butch, overcome by rage and emotion, ended up almost killing Legion by putting him in his dreaded and deadly submission finisher the "Suffocating Sight". Butch would forfeit his match in the tournament, leaving his predetermined tag team partner, Bryan Deas, out on his own whilst he accompanied his nephew to the hospital. It would be a turning point for Butch, as this and the other events leading up to it were just too much for even "The One Man Tartan Army" Butch Parker and despite putting up a valiant battle, he was soundly defeated by a merciless AC James inside a steel cage. But there was a silver lining for Butch after his title loss. After being attacked by members of the Dark Templars in response to Butch's attack on Legion following Sean's injury, Butch was saved by none other than the returning pair of Hans von Richtoven and Red Dragon – who seemed just as surprised to see each other as Butch was to see them. Now, with his best friends once again at his side, and a fresh mentality, Butch, Hans and Red Dragon would form a stable known as The Imperium. However the group would experience challenges in the form of the infamous wrestling faction the NWO who reformed in HWA with Hulk Hogan at the helm and flanked by Talon Wilkinson, Eddie Phoenix and Ronnie McNeil. Butch also had to contend with the love life of his sister Diana after another fellow Scotsman, Logan Neilson arrived on the scene in HWA. The cocky and brash Logan showed a romantic interest in Diana straightaway when she was the guest of Butch and Wisdom at a live HWA event. Butch’s protective big brother nature put him at odds with Logan who’d cemented friendships with Hans, his brother Heinrich and Red Dragon. Eventually, the little romance fizzled out and Logan moved on to date Talon Wilkinson’s sister, Ally.

2010 and 2011 were very rough years for Butch and for Wisdom. Just as their relationship had managed to reach a period of stability and sustained happiness, Butch suddenly aligned himself with arch-nemesis and HWA owner, Senester. To the rest of the world, Butch had done the unthinkable. Not since Hulk Hogan showed up in WCW at Bash at the Beach 1996, dropping his infamous leg drop on Macho Man Randy Savage had a heel turn sent such ripples through the sporting world.

Wisdom was left heartbroken by the actions of her man who had begged her to “trust him”. The wrestling world quickly turned its back on Butch, refusing to accept his new demeanour. The sudden negative reaction towards Butch and tirades of hate and anger directed towards him unleashed a new level of aggression and violence in Butch that no one had seen from him before as the One Man Tartan Army became the Gladiator of God. Butch would go so far as breaking the leg of HWA Hall of Famer and color commentator Vanessa Lang, fiancé of his best friend Hans von Richtoven. Over the next year, Butch would continue to commit dastardly deeds for Senester whilst also laying with a woman called Minerva - a prize Butch was given for his efforts. Disgusted with himself, Butch had no choice but maintain a charade of affection for Minvera which only furthered Wisdom’s anger and frustration with Butch’s initial plea for her trust him.

Then, it all came to a head when the reason for Butch’s allegiance with Senester was revealed …His sister Diana had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. Feeling helpless that he could not save his baby sister, he made a deal with the devil, begging for Senester’s help in the form of his multi-million dollar conglomerate Dark Horse Enterprises. Diana was able to be saved but she could not forgive Butch for playing “God” after she’d made peace with her diagnosis. By June of 2011, Butch could no longer associate himself with HWA and he made the decision to retire. Wanting a fresh start, Wisdom also took it upon herself to leave. Keen to start afresh, Butch and Wisdom married in a private ceremony in Butch’s hometown of Dunfermline in Scotland. Not long after, Wisdom fell pregnant and on May 1, 2013, Butch’s daughter, Evina Vanora Parker was born.

In 2014, not able to stay away from his true calling, Butch returned to the ring and not long after, captured his third HWA World Championship, dethroning Senester in controversial fashion. The victory would result a bloody and bitter rivalry with Senester targeting not only Butch but also Wisdom and his daughter too. Not long after, one of Butch’s most bloody rivals emerged in HWA in the form of Michael James. Having established a career in New Japan Pro Wrestling, there had been strong, unconfirmed rumours James had been sent by New Japan chief executive Masahiro Chono to take revenge on the Parkers after Wisdom had rebuffed an offer from the Japanese wresting organization to sign a multi-year deal with them.

A vicious and bloody rivalry would quickly ensue between the two with Wisdom caught in the middle. She was frequently the butt of both physical and verbal assaults from James and ultimately Butch lost his World Championship to him. He would soon bounce back though and reclaim the title for a fourth time.

In late 2015, Butch and Wisdom unexpectedly became owners of HWA. Unfortunately due to some legal complications already plaguing the company, they lost sponsorships, state licenses, tv deals, superstars and ultimately fans.  The company was briefly closed before they reimagined operations, opening a training school and using homegrown talent to bolster a roster with new fresh-start athletes.  Stripped of the glitz and glamour they focused on the purity of wrestling and have enjoyed the drama and largely violence free environment they’ve created. They would welcome their second child, a son named David after Butch’s late brother in 2017.  HWA carried on with the incoming and outgoing of would-be wrestling superstars through their training facility and the Youtube channel established as their only means of production since no network would touch them. Butch would transition his personal wrestling school, the Lion’s Den, into the HWA’s official wrestling academy and soon the doors would open to all sorts of students that would eventually come to be the backbone of the HWA’s young and talented roster.

In the Fall of 2022 the Parkers were approached by executives at CBS interested in the rights to HWA production and its extensive video library.  By December negotiations had concluded and in January 2023, CBS announced their deal with HWA. The company, now with lucrative backing was making a mainstream comeback with Wisdom and Butch at the helm of this new era, that kicked off with a Reunion show bringing together talent across all periods of HWA history.
