She is exceptionally devoted to her craft but carries a chip on her shoulder over things in her life and career not going according to plan or having more roadblocks and challenges than expected or desired. She only cares about herself these days, her success and those who display the dedication to support her the way she feels she needs to be, and she’ll do whatever it takes to reach her goals.
Entrance:
The arena goes dark as “Viene por Sangre – Felix Walkout by Joseph Shirley ft. JVZEL” hits the arena. The rampway comes to life as green, white and red sparklers line the sides and light it up as Erica makes her way out onto the stage. She’s carrying a lit Our lady of Guadalupe candle to ring stomping her way down defiantly, looking around as if she’s pissed off and the world is against her. She says a little prayer before setting the candle in the corner and enters the ring via the steps, backing into the corner, cracking her neck and is ready to go.
Appearance:
Erica wears athletics tops and either shorts or different pants sets in a variety of colors to the ring. She has recently adopted wearing face paint to the ring in honor of her maestro Maniac, and her Mexican heritage. She sometimes wears a light hooded robe. Her brunette hair is typically worn down and she often has an angry disposition about her.

Hardcore / Lucha / High Flyer. Trained in Lucha Libre, Erica has adopted the fierce, ruggedness of hardcore into her arsenal as well as a classic highflyer move set. Background:
Erica Martinez was born in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. Her mother worked in a popular pupuseria, and her father worked in construction. She was the middle of four children until her two older brothers were both found murdered. Pedro and Jesus were a successful tag team in AAA, taking wrestling on as a second and then primary job to help support their family.
Erica herself supported in her part time job as an office assistant. She idolized her brothers, and they taught her everything she knows sneaking her off to the arenas with them to train and compete in dark matches. Her parents would never have approved, so she told them she worked extra hours at times as an excuse for the extra money she would bring in from time to time.
However, during the Covid Pandemic, the family struggled to make ends meet. Construction had halted, restaurants and many businesses were closed which meant her mother and father both had no money coming in and neither did she. An illegal underground wrestling promotion sprung up, showcasing events to mass crowds in secret locations. It was then that her older brothers continued their wrestling exploits to help bring in some money for the family, but refused to allow her to join them. They were found shot in the alley not far from one of these secret locations, their deaths being a tremendous loss and well of sorrow to the family. She discovered their murder to be the senseless result of a lost bet involving some cartel members. Now the eldest of her siblings, and her parents struggling she joined the underground promotion for the extra cash becoming deeply embroiled in the criminal world of Mexico for over a year.
Concerned about her traveling during these strange new “work hours” her father offered to drive her to work, but she always refused until one day when she was running late. He dropped her off at her job, but in her haste, she left her purse in the car which he noticed after he had pulled away. He turned back around, and pulled up at her job only to see Erica walking further up the street and disappear around the corner. Following her, he came to an abandoned ceramics factory, parked and walked to the door. Four men outside blocked his entrance, and without the “password” they asked for he was not allowed in. He paid them off with everything in his wallet, the very last of his money, and was let inside where he discovered the underground wrestling event, and his daughter part of the show, then forced to watch and wait. Distraught he approached her afterwards and brought her home. The family made the desperate decision to flee Mexico and come to America.
After a tumultuous trip, they landed in Los Angeles, where Erica joined the HWA Training Academy in 2020. She’s spent the last few years becoming acclimated American wrestling, and forming friendships with Matt Miller, Jeremy Branson, Sarah Callahan, and Michelle Miller. Her parents found work, under the table and she got fake identification which hot her a night job at Target stocking, and a simple waitress job during the day bussing tables. Fearing discovery, especially coming from wrestling in Mexico she kept her dealings on the straight and narrow with HWA working to get her real Visa, green card and eventually citizenship. She found everyone friendly, and a very promising support system. In December 2022 her father suffered a stroke and did not survive. She was desperate to expedite things so she could better support herself and her family, but the system proved far slower than she imagined only just getting her Visa in June 2023. She has become extremely bitter and resentful towards people who take, but do not give back, who offer to help but don’t and have ulterior motives, and her focus now is on her family and doing whatever it takes to lead and provide for her mother, and younger brother who are all that remain of her immediate family. He career in wrestling a tribute to her brothers and her father.
