Background:

Sarah was an only child, raised in a single-parent home by her mother who works as an LAPD Officer.  She was active in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since the age of 10, earning her 1st degree black belt just 5 years ago.  She had no interest in professional wrestling, and had never really even watched it.  By popularity alone she knew a few names like Hulk Hogan, Butch Parker, Ric Flair, Buff Bridges and The Rock (but from his movies).  She had her sights set on competing in Jui Jitsu at the 2024 Olympics, a goal she had since the age of 15 when the sport submitted its accreditation application for the Paris Olympics.  However. she was devastated that the Olympic Committee still had not approved the sport.  Remarking on her disappointment and sensing her loss of direction, Eve Torres Gracie, former WWE superstar, her mentor and trainer since the age of 14 pulled her to the side for chat.  Eve told her that there was never any guarantee of Jui Jitsu being in the Olympics and she shouldn’t necessarily wait around until 2028 on a wish and a prayer.  Eve suggested that if she was serious about being a competitor, she might consider professional wrestling as an outlet to showcase her physicality and to make some good money.  Her training would continue and Jui Jitsu was not going anywhere, and should the sport ever come to the Olympics perhaps any stardom she made in wrestling could help get her foot in the door.  Eve gave her the number to HWA’s training academy, and she gave them a call.  She had been cautioned that wrestling was quite different from Jui Jitsu, but her martial arts training could help give her an edge if she could learn all of wrestlings intricate details.  Sarah joined the academy in 2022 and completed her first year in February 2023.  Still quite green as far as wrestling goes, she trusts Eve’s instincts that her martial arts background will support her wrestling weaknesses as she continues to acclimate to the sport.
